Thank you for sharing your blog with me. I’m enjoying reading your write-ups . You have a talent for writing. It’s really great. I have already read two or three coz I’m in my client’s office and the manager is looking at my PC every now and then.
Thanks Lu….I guess I like to “write” as much as I love “talk.” Ha! Ha! It must run in the family…while I was in a meeting with my lap top, luckily I was seated in such a way the others couldn’t view what was on my screen. They thought I was typing some info., but I was actually working on my blog that one afternoon. Glad you enjoy…again, it’s just a way for folks to stay in touch.
Enjoyed your “blog”…you are very gifted…all is well in SAT…would you believe April 17 will be 1yr…
Wow . . .1 year already? Glad to know all is well in SAT. Wish we could visit you guys! As for my blog, glad you’re able to visit it here and there. At least you know what the familia is up too.
Love to your familia to my familia! (P.S . . . Lu Rivera is our cousin in the PI. I’m not sure if you knew her married name.) Take care and God bless . . .
hi.
i did a google search for “kawayan retsaurant in berkeley” and your blog entry was the closest thing that came up. im planning on taking my wife there for dinner tomorrow for her birthday and was wondering if you ever had a chance to go by there and “check it out”? we want to bring a party of almost 20, so do you think its big enough? is the food good? was it priced well?
im sorry, i know youre not a food critic and that im asking alot since im just a random stranger hitting you up for free info, but i just want to make sure that im not making a mistake by going there, and there is NOTHING online about the place, theyre not even listed on 411.
ok, thanks!!

PK. . . I’ve sent you an email. I’ll let you know what I find out after work . . .
Hello, I stumblied upon your blog becuase of the google search for the “Kawayan” restaurant as well. Your blogs are very entertaining! Thanks for writing!
Kim . . . let me know if you happen to try Kawayan before I do!
I went there yesterday with my cousin to check it out (but we didn’t eat) . . . I mentioned to Michelle who works at Kawayan that I “met” someone in cyberspace only because they had googled the restaurant but all that came was my blog. I guess I’m giving them free advertisement! Have a good day!
I happened to try Kawayan. I was there for their lunch buffet, 6.99 for all you can eat, not bad at all. I arrived kinda late, around 2 pm and they were sparse with what they had left. Their pancit was dry and soup wasn’t hot enough, but their pork adobo was very, very flavorful. I’m originally from South San Francisco/Daly City area and I’ve had very good Filipino Cuisine, Kawayan is slightly below their level bu t I’m very happy that it’s in the Easy Bay and close to the UC Berkeley Campus. I think if I had come earlier during the afternoon, it would be much better. The staff is friendly so that’s always a plus. I will definitely be coming back!
I a fellow food lover as well! We should trade favorite restaurants in the area! Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
Hello PK . . . thanks for your “review” of this restaurant! We had experienced the same when I went to Manila Garden in Hayward (years ago) . . . we got there about an hour before their buffet ended and many of the food item were either cold or they did not replenish. The food was just “OK” so we never went back although they are under new management. Yes, being from South SF/Daly City I can understand why you’ve had “good” Filipino dishes. I miss going down to Southern Cali because they have so many Filipino restaurants too! Let me know if you get a chance to try Pres A Vi, and I’ll do the same . . . . . as well as other restaurants. Take care, and have a great weekend too . . .
