On our way back from our Park Street stroll, we made a stop at Papa Murphy’s and ordered their barbecue chicken pizza and the cheesy bread for AC . . . after 20 minutes or so of baking them at home, thus dinner was ready . . . 🙂

outing3.jpgAfter we got back from Park Street, we showed Toby to our neighbor’s (Kathleen) friend who happened to be outside . . . . .  Kathleen had two of her other friends inside who were wanting to see Toby (apparently Kathleen had talked to them about Toby). They asked if Toby can stay with them for a few minutes. Did I say no? After all, this was going to be a pleasant reprieve even if it meant for 15 minutes or so. 🙂 As I was leaving, Kathleen’s cat, Tigger was outside playing in front of the yard . . .outing2.jpg

outing1.jpgThis afternoon, the hubs, AC, Toby and I took a stroll along Park Street in Alameda with Pete’s freddos in hand.  (JP had worked earlier today but decided to go out with his friends to the city.) Besides getting the BOGOF freddo drinks at Peet’s, I had another “motive” why I wanted to go to Alameda . . . and that was to go back to Petco to buy Toby’s treats.  It turns out that he likes the animal crackers so I bought a pound of just that.  Although Toby still weighs about 3lbs., we can’t hardly wait until we are able to walk him on the leash.  He’s pretty good inside his carrier but he does get a bit “antsy” here and there.  Most stores allowed us to bring Toby in with our without the carrier (because of his size)  especially this one “dog store” called Dog Bone Alley.  We enjoyed our walk up and down Park Street on this sunny afternoon . . . even bought AC a couple of shirts from this consignment shop called “Lauren’s Closet.”  I’ll try to keep this place in mind next time because they have some great deals  (and I mean “great” deals) on clothes & accessories . . . . . just the kind of things AC is in to since her style of clothing is forever changing.

toby2.jpgToday marks the 3rd week that Toby came into our lives. And boy, how it has changed! I wouldn’t say it was for the worst but definitely a challenging one!! I’m actually “baby-sitting” Toby because AC and her friend Katia went to the Alameda County Fair this afternoon. When I got home from work, I quietly opened the door and tiptoed just to see what Toby was doing. (Toby is free to roam only in the kitchen when no one is at home.) AC had left him alone for about 1.5 hours so I’m sure by the time I got home, Toby had stopped “crying.” My neighbor said she would hear Toby “whimpering” whenever he gets left alone. Twice a week Toby is left alone for a good 3-4 hours while ACtoby11.jpg is at volleyball practice. We figured Toby eventually has to get used of it because when school starts, Toby will be “home alone.” I truly enjoy having Toby a part of us . . . same goes with our Tina. Things for her has changed too. She only gets to roam around the entire house in the evenings when Toby is inside his crate in AC’s room. Hopefully as time goes by, they’ll get along with one another. It’s a little after 9 p.m. . . just got a call from KV who happened to go to the fair with Amanda and they saw AC and her friend. The hubs is also home right now . . . waited for him to come home so that I could have dinner with him. Toby is running “amok” . . he does that whenever the hubs comes home as he gets so fricken excited and can’t wait for hubs to play with him. I had a good 3 hour time with just Toby and me . . . during those times, Toby had taken about two twenty minutes nap here and there . . . which gave me time to “relax” and not worry about what he’s getting into. Having Toby is like having a toddler around the house . . . but 5 times the hard work! 🙂

img_3565.jpgYup . . . like I said many a times, being the “queen” of BOGOF coupon, after our trip to Trader’s and Petco, we made a quick detour to Peet’s on our way home. Parking was such a you know what around Park Street in Alameda around that time, I even wondered if it was all worth it. . . but being such a persistent person that I am, I was determined to find parking. I know we’ve must have gone around and around numerous time, but we did find parking after all. AC held Toby outside while I ordered our drinks. She had their chocolate caramel swirl freddo and I had to try their matcha green tea freddo. I have to admit that in comparison to Starbucks, Peet’s “green tea” freddo has more of a green tea taste to it. I have several more coupons before they expire on July 2nd, so most likely I’ll be back for more! [OK… gotta get ready for work now.  I also baked a lemon cake for work this morning so I could smell the aroma throughout the house . . . llove that “baked” smell . . .  and Kel . . . I will bake you this one next time! :-)]

img_3575.jpgAfter work yesterday, AC and I (and of course Toby) went to Trader Joe’s over at the Alameda Towne Centre. Since there was a Petco at the complex, we decided to get some treats for Toby. Every time he does his “number” correctly on the training pad, we always “praise” him and “reward” him by giving him some treats. Lately I think he’s been getting tired of the same couple of treats that we’ve bought so at Petco they had these cute little treats . . . some even looked like it was good enough for human consumption. They had these animal crackers, alphabet treats, etc.  One thing good about these treats is that we were able to let Toby “sample” them.  Since they sold them by the pound, we only picked the ones that Toby seem to enjoy.  We didn’t want to “overfeed” him with treats since he did not have dinner yet, so we let him sample of few and bought some that we thought he’d like.
