Archive for the ‘Memes’ Category

Sardonicnell tagged me this meme a while back but since I haven’t been “blogging” I’m now only getting to this.

The rules: Link to the person that tagged you. Post the rules on your blog. Share six unimportant things/habits/quirks about your self. Tag 6 random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. Let these random people know that they are tagged by leaving comments in their blog. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

Here are the 6 list of quirky things about me . . . what is “quirky?” Hee! Hee! OK . . . “QUIRKY” as defined means a peculiar behavior, which I know I have more than 6 but we’ll just list down what comes to mind:

1. I have a fetish for storage containers. . . not just your regular Rubbermaid or Tupperware ones, but those nice clear plastics one can find at The Container Store.

2. When we go camping, all of our stuffs are neatly packed inside those plastic bins and labeled as such to make it easier to unload. I also have a “welcome” mat in front of our tent. (I know I named 2 but these are related to camping.)

3. When I pack our lunches, the sandwiches, cookies, etc. all have to be neatly in its plastic bags. I always always wrap the sandwiches in wax paper first before putting them inside the plastic bags.

4. Speaking of plastic, I do not, I repeat, I do not like eating on plastic plates. I’ll eat on them if I have to but I do not own any plastic plates or those heavy plastic ones used for picnics. To me, the food always taste better on glass or stoneware.

5. I also have a thing for “pretty” platters. Although I have several, if I see a new platter that I like, I’d go out and buy it. To me presentation is so important. It must be the Martha in me. Ha! Ha!

6. Now the last one has to do with our dog, Toby. I know he is a dog and dogs do get dirty and muddy but when there is muddy area on the dog park, I would pick Toby up so that he wouldn’t get dirty. When the area is mud free, I’d put him down. I know that’s anal, but heck . . . that’s part of my quirkiness! Just the thought of having Toby getting inside the car with muddy feet and often times he sits on my lap so I have to avoid the muddy paths.

Note:  I just realized after reading this (Numbers 1-5)  list that I definitely have something for “plastic” .  What can that possibly mean?  Ha! Ha!

“Getting to Know Me” Meme

This was first sent to me via email from other friends but I got “tagged” by Sardonicnell so this one is for him . . .. 😉 BTW, I’m now only posting this but I answered these questions this morning.

New Year Meme 2008

This is my second tag for 2008 . . . both times I was tagged by Sardonicnell. I hadn’t really made any resolutions for 2008. If I did, then they would be a few resolutions carried over from last year like learning to have more patience and not being such a procrastinator. So . . . let the tag begin! Lastly, I don’t think I fall into any of those 4 categories below. Hmm?

*Start Copy Here*

New Year Meme 2008

When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions we seem to fall into four categories:
1) quite serious about them,
2) flippant about them,
3) do it because we feel pressured to, or
4) do not do them.
So, the purpose of this little game is to let us know which category you are in. Copy from “*Start Copy Here*” through “*End Copy Here*” and post it. Before “*End Copy Here*” tell us who you are, your site(s) (with link) and your New Year’s Resolution, or not.
Then tag as many others as you like, from one to your entire blogroll, your choice.
If you like, create an intro paragraph to your post that also acknowledges who tagged you.

Juliana – Juliana’s Site – My New Year’s resolutions are looking for a part time job, keep blogging, and learn to cook and bake.

Michelle – Rusin Roundup – 1. Learn to be happier and accept myself for who I am, 2. Is to lose about 25 lbs., and 3. Is to stop smoking.

Karen – Grow Rich Along With Me – My resolution for next year is to achieve $3K per month passive income by the end of 2008.

Mel – Attitude, the Ultimate Power & Complain Complain Complain – “I don’t need no stinking resolutions.” I never hold to them anyway so why frustrate myself by starting them now.

Sandee – Comedy Plus – I don’t need no stinking resolutions either. Years and years ago I did them because everyone else did, but not once did I follow through. Why set yourself up for failure?

Lynda – lynda’s loft – My resolution is to see resolve to that which needs resolution. Like Mel and Sandee, I feel that resolutions give us more stress, however, being a person who sets goals each year, isn’t that the same thing as a resolution??? Goals vs. resolutions? Goals are more general and allow for more time to complete them, a resolution requires a mind-set and immediate action, which is not always feasible… Well, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it…

Amelia – Amel’s Realm – This is a list of my New Year’s Resolution: 1. Health: Continue exercising twice a week, eat enough veggies and fruit, have enough rest, take vitamin C regularly and women’s multivitamin during my period. 2. Spiritual: Improve my Daily Bread reading routine and my prayer life and learn more from God’s Word. 3. Financial: Continue to make money online (my goal is getting €100 per month at least), be more creative in writing posts, and save most of the money. 4. General Life: Continue to learn Finnish AND practice it as best and often as I can, try out more baking and cooking recipes, continue to maintain and share positive thoughts, continue to learn to control my thoughts, continue to learn to catch myself before I start complaining and count my blessings instead, continue to stop and cherish all the little moments in life that oftentimes go unnoticed, and continue to feed my inner child and last but not least, continue to ENJOY my life thoroughly.

Max – MAX – My New Year’s resolutions are to dedicate more time to my friends; to finally be able to read “Der Spiegel” in German; to be calm when organizing my marriage; to go one last time to my favourite club and dance the night away; and continue to be happy!

Eric – Speedcat Hollydale – I love chicken. Problem is that I really never get to have enough chicken! My New Year’s resolution is to enact “Chicken Tuesday”. On this day I will eat only chicken, blog about chicken, and promote chickens all over the world. (hormone free) Join me, won’t you?

Marzie – Mariuca & Mariuca’s Perfume Gallery – My resolution for 2008 is to enjoy a healthier lifestyle and to expand my Perfume Collection.

Sindi- Life Is A Roller Coaster – My resolution is to complain less, pray more and be a little more thankful for what I have.

Judy – Sugar Queen’s Dream – My New Year’s resolution is: To take better care of my health. To eat better, well at least 3 meals a day, I’m lucky these days if I stop for one meal a day…. To help make the world a better place to live, I love the human race, but think there’s always room for change. To be generous until it hurts. To live each day as if it’s my last. To make a book of our personal family recipes and traditions for each of my 3 my children, so that the traditions and family cooking can be passed on in my family line long after I’m gone and finally……. To help more with the local Human society, Animals like little kids can not fend for themselves so it’s up to each of us to take care of our pets and to step in and care for all animals….. I hope that through me I can encourage my Children to be better adults and in turn to raise the Children they have or will have, to be good people with good, sound & solid values…. Peace!

Adrian – First Time Dad – My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 is to be a better father…now I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions because I never keep them but this one I better keep! Happy New Year to one and all!

Colin – Life – New Years Resolution? No way…Better to achieve more throughout the year rather than pander to the whims of a one day ‘wishful thought’

Mauro – 1 Million Love Messages – My resolution for next year are: 1. Change my job (maybe work online). I’m really unhappy in the actual one. 2. Dedicate more time to my family and girlfriend… maybe start to get ready for our wedding 3. Work hard in 1 Million Love Messages and reach 2500 Love messages (or more) in the end of 2008.

MidgetManOfSteel – Mental Poo – To get out of dealing with people who I have no desire in helping at the job I’m doing…catch the eye of someone who can see that I can write and be funny…and get my own ticket to happiness from my humor….and a Ferrari. While I’m doing this, I resolve to get a Ferrari.

Stacy – My Thoughts – My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 – Is to be more understanding to my children and to other people, Not to curse at others while I am driving, try to eat right and exercise, try to volunteer in my community, and to believe more in my spiritual side.

Jason – DatCurious.com & DatMoney.com – Although, I normally don’t do New Year’s Resolutions (because I find it as an excuse to actually do something I should’ve already been doing), this year I will plan on giving back to the blogging community, especially my audience. I’m not sure how I will do it yet, but I definitely will.

Kesa – Little Aussie Cynic – My New Years Resolution is the standard….. to finally get off the smokes and to loose 8kg…. both which are possible just difficult…..Happy New Year to you and yours….Aussie

Ann – A Nice Place in the Sun – “To let the rest of my life begin as soon as possible.”

Sandy – Writing in Faith – I don’t make special resolutions at New Year’s. I’m good with reminding myself to breathe, go easy, and be at peace with everyone who touches my life (even the rotters). It’s enough.

GBex –reachingOut– My new year’s resolution is to be more secured and be a better person and gain more friends on the other side of the world.

Idealpinkrose – Idealpinkrose and Allinkorea – I don’t make New Year’s Resolution. But this year, i’ll just want to do what is pleasing to God and want to be a blessing to the people around me.

Thesserie – Photoblog & Dagboek & Eetsmakelijk – To be able to accomplish things that I need to do and not to complicate life, it’s already hard as it is.

Sardonic Nell – Tales of A Melodramatic Moron – This year I’ve decided to focus on my spirital growth, as I think that it’s one of my handicaps. You can read more about it here.

Lulu – TulipFleurs – I’m not one into New Year’s Resolutions, but I think this year I hope to 1) stay more in touch with relatives and not just at family gatherings, 2) have a little bit more patience, 3) try not doing things at the very last minute (the queen procrastinator that I am) and 4) cut back on my diet coke . . . yes, I’m addicted to that stuff on a daily basis.

What’s inside your hand bag?

bag.jpgI’ve been tagged by Sardonicnell, and so here I am to tell you what’s in my bag. I’m too lazy to take a picture of my bag and its contents right now but I recall posting two pictures of my recent hand bag purchase (from Barney’s New York Outlet) on Flick’r so I “snatched” them and posted them here. I’ve been carrying this bag mainly for work and on the weekends because its roominess and comfort. Also, during the “winter” I won’t get all bent out of shape if this one gets all wet in the rain, unlike some others like my Coach handbag, etc. (that’s a “me” thing ;-))

Inside that clear zipper pouch is where I keep “everything” small so they don’t get “lost” inside my bag (i.e my prescription drugs + Alleve & Claritin), hand lotion, hand sanitizer, hand wipes (it sounds like I’m obsessed with cleanliness, huh?), business cards, Altoid mini-mints, pens, receipts, and some make-up, etc., my wallet, my 1.00 plastic sunglass case that I use to keep my Hugo Boss eyewear or Gucci Sunglasses, a small travel first aide kit inside the white case, a “ziploc” bag that I use to store my camera in (yes, I know that’s ghetto but it works because it protects the screen from scratches), a black pouch (between the glass case & ziploc bag) which contains my prayer cards, rosary and one of Nanay’s remembrance card, and the one thing I can’t live without, my cell phone. BTW . . . since I like to change handbags quite often, the “plastic zipper pouch” helps me to switch bags easily without having to empty the smaller items that I would otherwise forget to another handbag. 😉

Because of Thesserie’s blog, I decided to give this “meme” a try. It sounded fascinating to partake in this Christmas Tree Blog Parade . . . to see the different Christmas tree decor and their “little” story behind it. Well, I’ve always been big on Christmas trees, although this year I was reluctant to put one up because of AC’s 8-month old cockapoo. I’m glad we chose to put one up. For the past 3 years I’ve been decorating with silver accents, but this year I decided to go with gold accents. Also, for the past years, we’ve been going to the Christmas tree farms where the hubs chops down the one we want (family tradition). This year we broke the tradition and bought from our neighborhood tree lot.  I started “collecting” ornaments back in 1984 and when the kiddies were born, the tree always had a “children’s theme” . . . wooden toy soldiers, Walt Disney characters, etc . . .  but as the kiddies got older, I changed to theme to a more “sophisticated” one.  Oh . .  and each year I buy JP and AC an ornament . . . something for them to remember and a keepsake when they’re on their own.  So there, that’s my little story.

Here are the rules:

############ START COPY HERE ############

This is a first annual 2007 Christmas Tree Blog Parade Meme created and conceptualized by OTWOMD of Bluepanjeet.Net The purpose of this meme is to enliven the Christmas spirit by showing to the world our very own Christmas trees. They say that it is on the Christmas tree that best describes how a person celebrates Christmas. So here are the rules:

  1. Copy the Logo of this meme (Download it on the sidebar and resize it that will best fit your blog or according to your desire) and post it on your entry.
  2. Take a photo of your Christmas tree inside your house. A whole shot is the most appropriate photo. And post it on your entry
  3. Tell something about your Christmas tree like who decorated it, what are the ornaments and accessories, or what is the theme and meaning of your Christmas tree this year.
  4. You can put any title on your meme but don’t forget to include this “2007 1st Christmas Tree Blog Parade”.
  5. Do the link train history. Put the link of your previous bloggers who tagged you and your own link, Example: Tag History: Bluepanjeet – “you” –

The link train will provide clue on “who tagged who” and at the same time a reference of data for the creator of this meme.

On The feast of Three Kings on January (The official ending of the Christmas Season), Bluepanjeet.Net will launch a mini site that will feature all of the participant’s Christmas trees for 2007 with a link back to their site. That is why it is very vital that you maintain the link history so that your Christmas tree will be included in the Christmas tree blog parade of 2007 and will be a part of history.

My Christmas Tag History: Bluepanjeet ThessThesserieTulipFleurs

I wish to tag the following: Nell and Jon .
