I think I’m slowly getting back to my blogging.  For the past several months maybe even for the past half a year, I’ve been so preoccupied with Flickr.  If there were such a thing as Flickr Anonymous, I think I would be the first member to join . . . better yet, maybe I should start my own group.  It’ll go like this at the introductory session . . . “My name is TulipFleurs and I have been flickring every single day.  I cannot put the camera down even when my family or friends go out to eat.  I’m totally addicted to taking pictures.  I have withdrawals if I don’t take any pictures.”  Hate to admit but that’s the honest truth; however, I know I am not alone because there are so many Flickrites just like me.  Anyhoo, getting back to my blog . . . not much to write about today other than my hair dryer broke this morning so I asked the hubs if he could drive me to Costco (I didn’t feel like driving) because I know they sell them and the price is very reasonable.  We ended up getting some additional items like the guava & mango juice, some carnitas, a 24-sheet of colorful tissue paper for giftwraps (@ 3.49, that was a deal) and some cream cheese.  We had already gone to Costco over the weekend so we didn’t need much.  I”m glad tomorrow is Wednesday . . . no exciting plans for this weekend although the hubs did mention Gilroy Garlic Festival.  We’ve never gone but it sounds like the hubs would like to go.  Other than that, I’ll be doing my domestic “weekend” chores.  Till then and good night . . .

I know it’s been a very very long time since I’ve last made an entry to my blog.  As mentioned earlier, I’ve been so addicted to Flickr that all my free time is spent uploading pictures, editing pictures, visiting other folks’ photostream and making comments on their photos.  This can be a full time job!  Really!  I kind of miss blogging so hopefully very soon I’ll get back to it.  So many things have happened since I last blog . . . the number one important event was JP”s high-school graduation.  Anyhoo, I think I’ll do a quick run down soon.  Well, since I’m on my blog now, I think I’ll go ahead and post this doggie tuna casserole that I found the latest issue of Everyday with Rachel Ray. . . .

Two days ago I had a bout with vertigo. I was on the computer at work when I started feeling dizzy. At first I thought it would subside but as minutes past, my dizziness got even worse. They ended up calling the EMT/paramedics but first the campus police came along with the fire department. Right before they came though, I was feeling very very naeseous (if you know what I mean). Well, eventually the EMT/paramedics came and whisked me on the gurney and off I went straight to the ER. Bril had come with me (love you Bril!) in the ambulance. Moments later, the hubs came too. After spending several hours and monitoring my vitals, they discharged me at around 4’ish in the afternoon. The hubs had already taken Bril back to work by then. The verdict was what I thought I had . . . “vertigo.” The last bout I had with vertigo was at least 10 years ago but I remember that one was worse because I had the sensation that the room was spinning endlessly in circles. Tomorrow I have an appointment with my doctor and probably my neurologist. We shall see . . . Right now the hubs is taking Toby out for his morning stroll while here I am at the lap top. This is still resting for me although I do have a pounding headache now. Arghhh! Believe it or not I actually baked (for the first time) this Salvadorian Quesadilla cake this morning . . . that was before my friggen headache. We’ll see how it turns out.

Yesterday was my first day being home after my ER episode. The hubs and I quickly went to Mi Pueblo to get a few things for this week’s dinner and since we were already there, I ended up getting my veggies and fruits instead of going to Farmer Joe’s. In turns out that I am low on potassium too so I’ve loaded up with bananas. Since I had time to actually make dinner (from scratch), I made chicken menudo (instead of pork this time). As I was preparing the dinner, I get a knock on the door . . . it was Bean and Father “G” . . . Father “G” had insisted to Bean that he wanted to “surprise” me. Boy was I surprised. Luckily I was up and about and not feeling miserable. 😉 Anyhoo, they ended up staying for dinner. It was nice that they came over to visit and was glad that what I had prepared would work out.

Hello again . . .

Gosh . . . the last time I made an entry was a little over a month ago. The wordpress format looks so different. Anyhoo, today is AC’s 15th birthday. I’m at work taking a break so instead of checking my Flickr’, I thought I’d get back into the swing of blogging. This is only going to be a short entry because like I said, I’m only taking my morning breaK. This morning, KV called to wish AC a happy birthday then it dawned on me that I plumb forgot to call KV to wish her a happy birthday. How could I have forgotten my best friend’s birthday especially since we’ve been friends for 30 years!!! My bad! So KV if you are reading this, check later on Flickr . . . I have something for you there. Well, gotta get back to work.

I had my eye exam over 6 months ago and I have yet to get new “prescriptions” . . . I’ve been blind as a bat since then and have difficulty reading my magazines. (Arnel . . . if you’re reading this . . . that’s why I don’t read any books kasi I’m “bulag!” Ha! Ha!) At lunch time today, I took the hubs’ eye wear to the optometry clinic to get repaired because good ol’ Toby got a hold of them. Luckily only one of the plastic nose piece came off and well, the right lens kept “popping” out too. While waiting for them to repair his eye wear, I had fun trying on different eye wear and even took a couple of pictures of the ones that I like. I was “eyeing” (get it! ha! ha!) two pairs both from Escada. It wasn’t necessarily the “brand” but I liked the shape of them. One had somewhat of a “bling” to it and the frame was wired vs. the hard frame. The other was similar to the ones I’m wearing now . . . my Hugo Boss. They said I’m eligible to have another free eye exam and since I haven’t used my “eye-glass” allowance I could apply the $130.00 towards any pair of glasses that I wanted (plus the free transitional lens). The Hugo Boss that I got years ago threw me back almost 400.00 buckaroos. Being that was my first eye glass, I guess I didn’t know what to expect. Now I know better . . . the way I “trash” my eye wear around. . . I’m surprise my Hugo’s are still holding up. Well, the next step would be to make an appointment for my eye exam. I should have made the appointment while I was already down there but I like to “complicate” my life. Ha! Ha! Nah . . I just didn’t know when I’d want to go for my eye exam . . . soon though because I’m telling ya . . . I CANNOT READ! 😉

Ooops!

Last Tuesday afternoon while trying to reverse out of the parking garage at work, I “accidentally” (note the word “accidentally”) hit the concrete column. Well, actually the driver’s side mirror hit the column while I was trying to back-out. I should have had the parking attendant move the car that was behind me but I figured I could get the car out. WRONG! Next thing I knew, I heard this loud “scratching” sound. I said to myself, “Oh shit!” If it had been my car, I wouldn’t have cared “too much” but the car I was driving was the hubs!!!! The mirror was left dangling as the only thing holding it in place was the electrical wire and the casing of the driver’s mirror was all scratched up. Being a black car didn’t help as it was so fricken noticeable! I didn’t know what I would tell the hubs. It must be a “guy” thing but I know how much the hubs loves his bimmer (even though it’s a later model, and in immaculate condition at that) because he truly “babys” it. Well, as soon as I got in front of the house, I called hubs to have him come out. His immediate response was “What did you do?” Why does he assume I did something? I know I did, but I could have needed help bringing in the groceries?? As soon as he walked towards the car, his reaction and question was, “Oh my gosh, what did you do?” To myself . . . “duh? what does it look like?” I got out of the car and explained to him what I did and within seconds I started to cry . . . I told him I didn’t mean to do it as it was an accident. Before he could say anything else, I went inside the house. I came out about 10 minutes later to tell him misc-1025.jpgI had to go to Safeway to buy some mayo, etc. My car is still not “fixed” but it is drivable. . . meaning, we don’t know when it will loose power (again). That’s another story. So I drove off with my car because there was no way I was about to take the hubs’. About two hours had passed and while in the kitchen, the hubs went inside the kitchen to tell me that he was sorry for making me cry (I was a bit shocked because he “really” didn’t make me cry . . . I was just getting emotional but we’ll leave it at that.) He then tells me, “You know I love you more than the car but the car means a lot to me.” He then says, “next time just be more careful.” A sigh of relief came over me. Whew! Bottom line is . . . “crying” helps. (And JP . . . . if you’re reading this . . . shhhh! Ha! Ha!) I had wanted to take a picture of the “damage” that I did to the rear view mirror, but when I went to take the picture after getting home from work, I noticed that all the scratches were no longer visible. (The hubs had snapped the mirror back in place on Tuesday while I was still inside the car.) Anyhoo, the only picture I have is the “after” picture. The scratches that I made were very bad but the hubs said he had buffed and waxed it today?

misc-505b.jpgespecially when the weather outside right now feels like Spring! Well, I’ve been out for two days now . . . the hubs has been out since last Thursday; however, when the hubs gets sick, he acts as if it’s the end of the world. I swear . . . Men! Not all though . . . but for the hubs, he’s helpless when he’s down with the flu. Not only does he have the symptoms of the flu but “crankiness” plays an important role in his demeanor. Luckily he’s getting over it (slowly but surely) so he’s not that cranky to be around with. As for me, when I’m sick . . .I know how to deal with it. I took several naps off and on yesterday and I took a nap earlier before noon. misc-520b.jpgIf I feel up to it, maybe I’ll continued writing that letter that I’m suppose to write to give to JP on his retreat later this afternoon. The hubs is in the back yard now with Toby and I’m downstairs in the family room laying on the sofa. He has the sliding glass door opened so the breeze feels quite good and fresh. I think I’ll go in the back yard to get some fresh air . . . it might do me some good.  I may give Bril and KV another call later.  KV didn’t have work today because of Lincoln’s Birthday.  I would have had her come over but I’m sure she doesn’t want to get the “coodies” we have.  Ha! Ha!
